Easier Access for All
Exciting times! Work has begun on the Disabled Access improvements at Trinity. Check out the construction in action and read below for the backstory on this project.
Holy Trinity Church is a historic building dating back to 1873 with beautiful features such as a stained glass window which had been brought around the southern tip of South America from England, and a bell which had been salvaged from a ship abandoned in San Francisco harbor in the early days of the Gold Rush.
The historic nature of the building has however proven to present us with some challenges, including inconvenient and somewhat difficult access to the sanctuary for persons with mobility challenges.
To address this challenge the Holy Trinity Vestry has approved a capital campaign to raise the required funds to add new access on the north side of the church just around the corner from the main front doors. The Buildings and Grounds committee has been hard at work defining the scope of the project and getting competitive bids from contractors. We have settled on a contractor and have completed the design concept as seen here:

The next phase of the project is a goal of raising $25,000. We are blessed to already have a parishioner offer to match the funds raised through this campaign!
2 Kings 12:11-12 11 Then they would put the counted money into the hands of those who supervised the work on the house of the LORD, who in turn would pay those doing the work—the carpenters, builders, 12 masons, and stonecutters. They also purchased timber and dressed stone to repair the damage to the house of the LORD, and they paid the other expenses of the temple repairs.
