The Gold Country Celtic Society will present the annual Kirkin’ O’ the Tartan in the Historical Trinity Episcopal Church sanctuary. The Kirkin’ (Scots tongue for Churching) is a worship service of traditional content, but with special significance to those of this heritage. Central to its theme is the presentation of the tartans of clans, families, regions, and regiments symbolizing rededication to God’s service. Holy Trinity’s Priest, and Chaplain of the Gold Country Celtic Society Fr. Brad Helmuth, conducts the service, which is enhanced by the sound of bagpipes, the presentation of the seven Celtic nations’ flags, the singing of hymns, and the close bond of fellowship by all who attend. Reception to follow. |
Guests are encouraged to bringa Celtic memento to be blessed. |
